The Gedore is my favorite pliers wrench version.

    Very nice and sturdy

This is a very nice and versitile wrench. The action of the handle is compounded on the jaws such that a small movement of the jaws corresponds to a larger opening of the handle. This compound action means that you can apply a very significant amount of clamping force onto a fastener without having gorilla hands. This will also ensure that I don't strip fasteners as is common with certain other adjustable wrench designs. The button for repositioning the size of the jaws is straightforward enough, although the button on mine does not have a blue covering as shown in the picture. Not that this bothers me, but I thought it worth mentioning. I think this well be a very helpful wrench to have alongside my sockets and combination wrenches, particularly for large fasteners or when I need to hold both sides of a bolt.

    Very nice pliers.

There are a few reviews mentioning that you can't adjust them with the handles open. This is a design feature. With the handles open, the button stays in and the jaws slide freely to whatever size object you put them on. Then the button pops out as soon as you start to squeeze the handles.

    Very nice tool

Excellent tool. My only reasons for not giving a 5 star are for the price premium over a knipex they are not worth it imho. They don't open as wide in the maximum setting and the button can be finicky.

    Great pliers wrench

So many settings, it's crazy. I heard the adjustment took some getting used to, but it is incredibly intuitive. The jaws open super wide as well.

    Nice Pliers

I never heard of these before - but I'm glad I found out about them and bought this pair. These are well made - the adjusting mechanism takes some getting used to but in the end it works well. They are very handy for many jobs. Highly recommended.

Great product overall, slightly less refined than Knipex version

Posted by Michael Shor on Jul 26th 2019

Overall, I'd say this is a great product. It has a slightly broader opening than the old Knipex version and a slightly narrower version than the new one. Compared to the old Knipex pliers wrench (I don't have the current version that is rolling out), the handles closed spacing is a little broader spacing when closed, which, even with my fairly large hands is noticeable (it makes them a bit more difficult to handle. By appearance and feel, they are slightly sturdier, however. Like on the Knipex version, the lower jaw wobbles a bit from side to side, and I would say by about the same amount. This wobble disappears when the pliers are tightened onto something, however. Aside from the space between the handles which I find too large, the handles themselves have a very nice comfort grip to them, and I highly recommend that. Overall, if you want to spend the money to buy a German tool, these are a great buy.

A little big for everyday use but glad its there when I need it. Way more useful than an adjustable wrench.

    Great pliers

These pliers are great. IMHO, everybody needs a pair. It beats dragging around a ton of wrenches. I'm hoping they eventually make a 6" or 7" model.
