Very solid ratchet. No slop and built like a tank. It does have plenty of back drag. Hopefully it will get smoother with use. The look and feel is quality.

I use 1/2" drive more than anything at work so I decided to treat myself to a quality German-made Hazet ratchet. I like this ratchet. It arrived very well lubricated. The matte/satin finish is awesome and I prefer it over the typical shiny chrome typically found on US ratchets. I wish the entire head was matte/satin. I cannot figure out why the back of the head by the selector switch is polished to a mirror finish - it makes the whole thing look odd but it does not affect the functionality of the ratchet. The length is good, the weight well-balanced, and the fine tooth action very smooth (so smooth that at first I thought the gears were slipping, that is how fine they are). The comfort grip is more like a hard plastic than rubber so it isn't as padded for long use but it cleans off much easier. Overall, I really like this ratchet.

NIce Ratchet. Good Balance. Solid. I use it most days in the shop to remove prop nuts. I recommend buying.

I've purchased thousands of dollars of tools off the tool trucks. If those tools are your standard this ratchet will not disappoint. I love it so much I just purchased the extendable version. Top notch and at this price I believe to be the best bang for my buck.

Well I can see what all the fuss is about on this. It's extremely heavy duty and quality steel. Hazet is a winner.
