    Excellent Knipex pliers; as I expected. I picked this Knipex style as I prefer my hand tools without springs. If I "must" buy a hand tool with springs, I remove them. Note that Knipex makes this style of pliers with other tip sizes and finishes. I also like the fact that these pliers don't have wire cutting blades. I have small Knipex wire cutters that I prefer for that purpose. These pliers have a very nice design and exhibit excellent craftsmanship. Highly recommended and will buy again if they ever "walk away."

    The jaws have almost exactly the same size and taper as the Knipex 30-21-140 5.5" long nose pliers, which has longer jaws and actually a slightly smaller tip due to being half-round. Also, this finish is not as good as other black atrametized "Precision" Knipex models, which is usually perfect. I have heard the chrome versions tend to be better, but it will be easy enough to touch up my cheaper model (one jaw slightly thicker than the other). - - Note: like other Knipex, the inside jaw surface has a black atrametized finish.
