Meet the Cobra - The Indispensable Gripping Machine

The KNIPEX Cobra XL offers the power and comfort of water pump pliers while being lighter in weight and having a greater gripping capacity than comparable pipe wrenches.

The Cobra XL can grip a 3 1/2" pipe coupling and weighs 50% less than 2" pipe wrenches, which have a much lower gripping capacity. With its compact length of 16", the Cobra XL is perfect for the plumber's tool box.

    Wow! The non slip grip sure beats the blue vinyl grips of the other pliers I own. The angled jaws and teeth pattern add to an exceptional grip. I really like that the cobra XL fits in my toolbox better than the Ole blue pliers Kudos!

    Knipex changed the jaw profile slightly, so mine didn't come as pictured. There is probably a good reason, but I don't know why.

    I work with rigid metal conduit and often it is 2.5 - 3”. The outside diameter is even larger and I would much rather carry these than a massive pipe wrench. Used today on rigid and there was zero slippage.
